HTC Sensation

by Chris on July 11, 2011

The newest in the Android Operating System phones sensation is the HTC Sensation. The design is sure to become a favorite as there have been no compromises made in the features. Following are the main features of the phone:

Features

  • 14.4 Mbps HSPDA & 5.76 Mbps HSUPA
  • Dual-band 3G supports and Quad-band GSM
  • qHD resolution LCD touchscreen (540×960 pixels) which is 4.3 inches and 16 M color capacitive
  • Gorilla glass for the LCD screen
  • Android Operating System (OS) version 2.3 Gingerbread along with HTC Sense 3.0
  • Dual Scorpion CPU which is 1.2 GHz, Adreno 220 GPU, a chipset of Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8260
  • RAM of 768 MB with 1 GB apps storage
  • 1080p and 720p video recording @ 30fps
  • 8 MP camera with autofocus and LED flash, geotagging and face detection
  • Wi-Fi b/g/n & DLNA
  • RDS integrated FM radio stereo
  • 32GB maximum micro SD slot (8GB card is included)
  • Proximity sensor, accelerometer and a sensor for auto-brightness
  • A camera in the front for video calls
  • Audio jack of the standard 3.5 mm
  • Micro USB port for charging
  • Stereo Bluetooth version 3.0
  • Voice dialing; smart dialing
  •  HTC Locations app
  • Video support DixX/XviD
  • Portable Hotspot HTC
  • Editor for office documents

So do you think you will have everything packed in one phone? There are some cons though which are as follows:

  • A very fundamental ‘death grip’ issue with the Wi-Fi radio
  • No individual camera key
  • The screen’s outdoor performance is not very impressive
  • There is no unibody construction that has been advertised
  • Micro SD is under the cover so not very easily accessible

These are some minor cons that if one is willing to overlook, will not matter much, as the phone is the ultimate sensation in the droids family. It is quite a powerful phone. HTC has indeed worked a lot on their interface designs and has provided quite a phone that will be on the shortlist of powerful droids.

The HTC Sensation measures 126.1 x 65.4 x 11.3 mm. the weight of the phone is around 148 g. the size is very close to phones that have a 4.3 inches screen but is heavier and thicker than some of the phones. You can enjoy HD video streaming anytime by purchasing an MHL dongle (it is not included in the package). Battery life is fairly good. You might have to charge daily if used extensively.

Samsung galaxy s2

by Chris on July 11, 2011

The Samsung Galaxy S II is a Smartphone; the Korean firm has taken another step towards the enhancement of their Galaxy Series. This mobile may become a severe threat to apple’s iPhone victory. It provides some exciting features including super AMOLED plus screen, 2 GHz processor, Dual core, Android 2.3 (gingerbread) and supports many other features.  It has only one rectangular button/key. Volume button is at the left side of this modish mobile.

Goods:

  • Screen is sway to good; 4.27 inch (it doesn’t look too big) supper plus AMOLED screen has 800x 480 pixels resolution, which is less then HTC sensation but still it’s tremendous.
  • Weight of SGS 2 is extremely light that when people hold it for the first time, they get confused because they expect it to be heavy from its look.
  • Ultra slim mobile, its thickness is less than 9mm.
  • It has 16 GB internal storage.
  • It supports 8MP camera along with LED flash.  On the top of the screen, you can find 2MP front facing camera with light sensors.
  • Internet Wi-Fi option is available along with GPRS.
  • Video quality is terrific; they are recorded in 1080p at 30fps.
  • Beneath the camera, there is a 1650 mAh battery.
  • Galaxy S2 is powered by dual-core; 2GH processor with 1 GB RAM and microSD card slot.
  • Gyroscope can be used to improve wallpapers.
  • The mobile supports 21.1 Mbps HSPA + speed thus allowing download at a rapid speed.
  • It uses hubs for socializing, games, music, and reading.
  • Photo/video editor is another outstanding feature of SGS 2.
  • Chat app endow with google talk, Yahoo Messenger and Windows Live Messenger. (Note: voice/video chat is not accessible)
  • File sharing of all kinds of images/videos is efficient.

Cons:

  • It heats up very rapidly, even if you use it for a small period of time.
  • Battery life is very poor. It drops quickly when you are playing games or using some other applications.
  • Images are displayed in 16 bits instead of 32 bits on some applications.
  • Quality of camera is quite good but it doesn’t have a key, which most of the users don’t like.
  • The flash of the camera is a bit strong.
  • It uses Touchwiz UI instead of HTC sensation.

This mobile is quite handy. It is a very preferred choice for those who wish to have light, sleek mobile sets with all the basic functionalities.
